1-bedroom Unit in Classic Melbourne CBD Building!
I remember stepping into that classic Melbourne CBD building on my last trip down under, and honestly, it felt like I'd wandered into a slice of the city's history without any of the stuffiness you'd expect from an old spot.
I remember stepping into that classic Melbourne CBD building on my last trip down under, and honestly, it felt like I’d wandered into a slice of the city’s history without any of the stuffiness you’d expect from an old spot. The place is tucked right off Collins Street – you know, that elegant stretch with all the trams rattling by and those fancy boutiques that make you feel underdressed just walking past. It’s super central, like a stone’s throw from Federation Square and the Yarra River, which means you’re basically in the thick of it without trying. I arrived mid-afternoon during peak hour, and yeah, the traffic hum was noticeable, but once you’re inside, it’s surprisingly quiet – those thick heritage walls do a great job blocking out the bustle. Check-in was a breeze; it’s not your typical hotel lobby vibe, more like picking up keys from a friendly local concierge who chatted about the best nearby coffee spots (pro tip: try the laneway cafes on Degraves Street for that proper Melbourne flat white). The building itself has this grand, almost Art Deco feel with polished marble floors that echo a bit when you walk in, and an old-school elevator that creaks just enough to add character – nothing scary, though, I promise.
What really sold me on this 1-bedroom unit was how it nailed that balance between vintage charm and modern comfort, you know? The space is spacious for a CBD spot – we’re talking high ceilings, big windows letting in that soft southern light, and a kitchenette that’s actually stocked well enough to whip up a brekkie without hunting for utensils. I mean, there’s a proper oven and even a dishwasher, which saved me after a long day exploring. The bedroom’s got this plush queen bed with crisp linens that smell faintly of lavender (or maybe that’s just my imagination after too many market visits), and the bathroom’s got those rain showerheads that make you linger a little longer. It’s a four-star setup with a solid nine rating for a reason – everything’s clean, Wi-Fi’s zippy even during evenings when everyone’s streaming, and there’s air con that hums softly without drowning out the distant tram bells, which I actually found kind of soothing. Oh, and parking? It’s available in a nearby secure lot on Little Collins, but fair warning, it costs a bit extra and spots fill up quick during events like the Australian Open in January – plan ahead if you’re driving. One minor gripe: the unit’s on a higher floor, so if you’re lugging heavy bags, that elevator wait can feel eternal, but hey, it’s part of the old-building charm.
All in all, if you’re after a spot that feels authentically Melbourne – close to the Queen Victoria Market for fresh produce on weekends or a quick stroll to Southbank for riverside dinners – this place is a gem. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, but that’s what makes it real; you get that lived-in vibe without sacrificing convenience. I’ve stayed in fancier hotels, sure, but this one left me wanting to extend my trip, wandering the CBD laneways and popping back for a quiet afternoon nap. Well worth it for couples or solo travelers who want to immerse themselves in the city’s pulse without the tourist trap feel – just book early, especially in summer when the place gets snapped up fast.
Melbourne’s apartments welcome families with spacious lounges, playground courtyards, and quick rides to beachside St Kilda.

What Our Guests Say
Pretty good What could be improved: That you had to go to one location fair walk away to pick up the keys then go to another location for the accomodation.
That you had to be out by 8am that is ridiculous.
All though accomodation nice it is NOT better then most apartments and to have to walk a long distance to collect and return keys makes this place unactractable.
I will NOT Stay here again.
