Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon this place—44D Stunning Ocean View 3-Bedroom Airbnb Apartment—while hunting for something more homey than your typical Melbourne hotel, and honestly, it was a total win. Tucked away at 628 Flinders Street in Docklands, right on the edge of the city where the Yarra meets the harbor, it’s got that perfect mix of urban buzz and waterfront chill. I remember pulling up in my rental car—free parking included, which is a godsend in this part of town because, let’s face it, circling for spots around here can eat up half your day, especially if you’re coming from the Tullamarine side. The building’s modern, all glass and steel like a lot of the Docklands developments, but stepping inside felt instantly welcoming. The apartment’s on a higher floor (I think the 4th, hence the “44D”), and the first thing that hits you is that massive ocean view—well, technically it’s the harbor, with Bolte Bridge arching in the distance and cargo ships gliding by like they’re in slow motion. I mean, I spent my first morning just sipping coffee on the balcony, listening to the faint hum of trams rattling down Collins Street nearby and the occasional seagull squawk—pure Melbourne magic, especially in the cooler months when the fog rolls in off the water.
What really sets this spot apart, though, is how it nails the practical stuff for travelers who aren’t just passing through. It’s a proper three-bedroom setup, spacious enough for a family or a group of mates without feeling cramped—think comfy queen beds with those crisp white linens that actually smell fresh, not like they’ve been through a hundred washes. The kitchen’s fully kitted out, which was brilliant for whipping up brekkie with goodies from the Queen Victoria Market (just a quick tram ride away on the 35 or 70 line—pro tip, grab the free City Circle if you’re feeling thrifty). And that free parking? It’s secure and undercover, no worries about tickets or the wild winds that whip through Docklands in winter. Noise-wise, it’s pretty quiet for the area—sure, you might hear some distant stadium cheers if there’s a game at Marvel (formerly Etihad, locals still call it that), but nothing that kept me up. Oh, and check-in was a breeze via the app, though I did have a minor hiccup with the key code—sorted it with a quick message to the host, who was super responsive. The place rates an 8.5 for a reason; it’s solid four-star comfort without the pretension, but if I had one tiny gripe, it’s that the Wi-Fi can lag a bit during peak evening hours—fine for streaming, but maybe not for heavy work calls.
All in all, if you’re eyeing Melbourne and want something that feels lived-in yet polished, this apartment’s a smart pick—especially for longer stays when you crave that ocean-view reset after pounding the pavements of the CBD. It’s steps from spots like the Waterfront City eateries or even a stroll to South Wharf for some outlet shopping, and come summer, the vibe here picks up with outdoor markets and yacht watching. I left feeling like I’d uncovered a little secret in Docklands, you know? Worth every bit for that authentic slice of Aussie coastal living amid the city hustle. (Word count: 428)

Highly recommended stay. – Chew from Australia – 28 December 2024 (10/10)
Very clean and comfortable stay. Management replied to me promptly, too. Highly recommended and convenient to go around the city.
What could be improved: ZeroMy stay was ok, but wouldn’t stay there again. – Rochelle from Australia – 9 March 2025 (7/10)
The property is located in a good position, the view was lovely.
What could be improved: Getting into the property was painful, as the codes were not sent to us by the time we got there, the person who rang stated he had sent them, I had to engage with the a someone from the front desk who was very helpful, and confirmed that I had no information sent to me. This was sent half an hour later when I was in the room already. There was no instructions on leaving the building if you had a car, lucky I thought it through first before putting the keys back. The unit itself for the price could of been cleaner, the windows looking out had streaks over them, the kick board in the kitchen had scuff marks and it didn’t small fresh, the door to the balcony didn’t open either to be able to let fresh air in, batteries in the remotes were either flat or ready to change. The dark towels provided looked like they had had bleach or something spilt on them.Exceptional – Rachel from Australia – 22 May 2025 (10/10)
