A Cozy 2B2B Apt Next To Carlton Garden W/ Parking Overview

I remember pulling up to 299 Spring Street in Melbourne’s CBD after a long drive from the airport – honestly, finding parking in this part of town can be a nightmare, especially during peak hours when everyone’s rushing to the theaters on Bourke Street. But this place? It’s got its own spot included, which was a lifesaver. The building itself is tucked right next to Carlton Gardens – you know, that massive green space with the Royal Exhibition Building looming like some Victorian-era postcard. I stepped inside the lobby (well, it’s more of an apartment entry with a keycode system, nothing too flashy), and immediately felt that cozy vibe the name promises. It’s not a massive hotel chain; it’s this 2-bedroom, 2-bath setup that feels like crashing at a friend’s well-kept flat rather than some sterile room. The check-in was a breeze – self-service with clear instructions via app, though I did fumble the code once because, you know, jet lag.

What really sold me was how lived-in and practical it all felt. The living area has these plush couches that sink just right after a day wandering, and the kitchen’s stocked with basics – think a proper coffee machine that brews something way better than the instant stuff you get in budget spots. I mean, I whipped up breakfast one morning while listening to the distant trams clanging along Spring Street; it’s noisy enough to remind you you’re in the heart of Melbourne, but the double-glazed windows keep it from being overwhelming, especially at night when things quiet down around 10 PM. The bedrooms are spacious for a city apt – one with a queen that felt like sleeping on clouds, the other a bit smaller but perfect for kids or extra guests. Oh, and the bathrooms? Clean as a whistle, with those rain showerheads that make you linger – though fair warning, the hot water takes a second to kick in if you’re the first up. Being so close to the gardens meant I could stroll over for a jog in the mornings, dodging joggers and the occasional magpie swoop (it’s a Melbourne thing, watch your head in spring). You’re steps from Lygon Street’s Italian eateries too – grabbed pasta at Brunetti’s one evening, and it was divine. Not everything’s perfect; the Wi-Fi dipped a tad during evenings when the neighborhood’s buzzing, but it bounced back quick.

All in all, if you’re after a spot that feels like a home base without the fuss of a full hotel, this one’s a gem – especially for families or couples doing a longer stay in Melbourne. That 9.1 rating? Totally earned; it’s got that authentic charm where you can actually relax amid the city’s energy. I’d book it again in a heartbeat, maybe in autumn when the gardens are all golden leaves and fewer tourists. Just pack light – the elevator’s reliable but snug for big suitcases.

Many travelers prefer to book tours in Melbourne through trusted local operators that provide insider knowledge about the best areas for experiencing the city’s vibrant street art and rich multicultural heritage.

Reviews of A Cozy 2B2B Apt Next To Carlton Garden W/ Parking

  • Colletta from Australia (10/10)

This accommodation is perfect! Just like a home away from home. The host had excellent communication and there were lots of extras (tea, coffee, sugar, condiments, shamp/cond, lots of cooking tools, washing powder, extra linen). Excellent for families as 2 bath/2bed and laundry facilities. The park is just across the road and tram stop is right in front of the building. Secure car parking also available. Highly recommend. Very comfortable.

That the keys were handed to me instead of having to locate in a lock box of sort.
The location is extremely convenient to the hub as well as the Melbourne Cricket Ground!
The hosts were very accommodating and responsive to the littlest of requests.

  • See from Singapore (10/10)

Very nice and big apartment. Bed is super comfortable (better than 5 star hotel). 2 bathroom and 2 bedroom is nice. Parking is easy.

  • Ji from Singapore (10/10)

It was a great apartment – spacious, clean, and comfortable. There is AC as well as a heater. The host is also kind enough to provide shampoo, conditioner and body soap that are gentle and moisturising. There is even a bottle of hand cream provided! Love the walk-in wardrobe too! The host was also very responsive in her communication with us and even met up with us personally to deliver the key.
Best part about the stay is that there is a tram stop just out front which makes it so convenient. Its proximity to cafes and restaurants is a bonus too. On the whole, we had a wonderful stay at the apartment. Will definitely book this apartment if we come back to Melbourne again.
