Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to Aligned Corporate Residences Kew on a drizzly afternoon last spring – you know, that time of year when Melbourne’s weather can’t make up its mind. It’s tucked away on Walpole Street, this quiet little stretch in Kew that’s all leafy trees and those grand old Victorian houses locals love to brag about. Honestly, after dodging the chaos of the Eastern Freeway, it felt like a sigh of relief; no honking trams or tourist crowds, just a modern low-rise building that blends right in without trying too hard. Parking was a breeze – they’ve got secure spots underground, which is a godsend if you’re hauling luggage or, like me, a bunch of work gear. Check-in was straightforward, the staff were friendly enough, though I did have to wait a bit because the front desk doubles as a sort of concierge for longer stays. Oh, and the lobby smells faintly of fresh coffee from the machine they keep going – nothing fancy, but it hits the spot after a flight.
What really sold me on the place was how it feels more like a home base than a hotel, you know? These are proper serviced apartments – I stayed in a one-bedroom suite that was spacious, with a full kitchen (hello, actual oven and dishwasher) and a balcony overlooking the treetops toward Studley Park. The decor’s modern and clean, sort of minimalist with those neutral tones that don’t scream “corporate” but get the job done for business travelers like me. I mean, it’s rated 7.9 for a reason – comfortable beds, reliable Wi-Fi that didn’t drop once during my video calls, and even a laundry in the unit, which saved me from hunting down a laundromat in nearby Hawthorn. Mornings were peaceful; you’d hear birds chirping from the Yarra River trails just a short walk away, and the noise from Cotham Road doesn’t really filter in unless it’s peak hour. That said, it’s not perfect – the gym’s basic (treadmill and some weights, nothing to write home about), and if you’re here in summer, the air-con can be a tad noisy. But for extended stays, it’s spot on; I whipped up a quick brekkie most days and wandered down to Kew Junction for a flat white at one of those hole-in-the-wall cafes on High Street. Plus, the tram stop’s only a five-minute stroll, getting you into the CBD in under half an hour – way better than dealing with parking in the city.
Look, if you’re heading to Melbourne for work or even a low-key family trip, this place in Kew is worth considering. It’s not the ritzy five-star vibe you’d find in South Yarra, but that’s kind of the charm – authentic suburbia with easy access to spots like the Botanic Gardens or even a quick drive to the MCG for footy season. I left feeling rested, which says a lot after a hectic week, and yeah, I’d book again in a heartbeat. Just pack light if you’re taking the stairs – the elevators are reliable, but well, you know how it is with older buildings retrofitted like this.

Location close to where I needed to be; also close to restaurants, supermarket next door; public transport had I needed it. Parking was excellent
Ira from Australia (7/10)
It was a very short stay as were in Melbourne celebrating with family. The apartment had everything we needed and staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
Louisa from Australia (9/10)
The room was unexpectedly upgraded. It was spotlessly clean, with all expected amenities. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure great, with very hot water available. We did not stay long but would have enjoyed being there as a whole family with plenty of room. Car parking was available and secure.

Tran from Australia (9/10)
The only thing I would add would be some dish soap, sponges, and bin liners for guests to use. Other than that, everything was perfect and well kept
Elizabeth from Australia (8/10)
While we really enjoyed the time there we think it would be good to renew the carpet in the stairwell, and a lick of paint as well.
