Amazing CBD Apartment with Epic Views and Free Parking! Overview
I remember pulling up to 228 La Trobe Street after a long drive from the airport – honestly, finding free parking in Melbourne’s CBD is like striking gold, especially with all those one-way streets and paid spots that can eat your wallet alive. This place, the Amazing CBD Apartment with Epic Views and Free Parking, is tucked right in the heart of it all, unit 5413 on the 54th floor (yeah, you read that right – it’s a high-rise beast). I mean, stepping out of the elevator and into that sleek, modern apartment felt like a total upgrade from the usual cramped hotel rooms. The views? Epic doesn’t even cover it – you’re staring straight at the glittering city skyline, with the Yarra River snaking below and even a peek at the Docklands ferris wheel on clear nights. I spent my first evening just parked on the balcony with a coffee, watching the sun dip behind the buildings, the distant hum of trams on La Trobe mixing with that fresh, crisp Melbourne air that always carries a hint of eucalyptus from the nearby parks. Check-in was a breeze too – self-service with a code they text you, no fussing with front desks during peak hours, which is clutch when you’re jet-lagged and the city’s buzzing around rush hour.
What really sold me, though, was how it feels like a proper home base in the middle of the action. The apartment’s got this open-plan vibe – a comfy king bed with those plush, hotel-quality sheets that actually smell like they’ve been freshly laundered (none of that stale motel scent), a full kitchen where I whipped up brekkie from goodies grabbed at Queen Victoria Market, just a 10-minute stroll up Elizabeth Street. You know what? Being on La Trobe means you’re steps from the free tram zone – hop on to zip over to Bourke Street Mall for shopping or Federation Square for some street art vibes. I wandered down to Hardware Lane for dinner one night, dodging the lively crowds and grabbing pasta at one of those hidden laneway spots locals swear by; it’s noisy in the evenings with all the foot traffic and occasional buskers, but earplugs sorted that out, and the double-glazed windows keep most of the city racket at bay. Well, sort of – there’s still that faint traffic buzz, but it’s Melbourne, right? The free parking spot in the basement was a lifesaver for day trips out to the Yarra Valley; no stressing about meters or apps. And during quieter mornings, especially in winter when the fog rolls in, it feels almost serene up there, like you’re floating above the chaos.
Look, if you’re hitting Melbourne for work or play – say, catching a show at the State Theatre or exploring the graffiti alleys in Hosier Lane, both super close – this spot’s a no-brainer. It’s not perfect; the building can get a bit elevator-crowded during peak tourist season in summer, and you might miss a pool if that’s your thing, but for a 4-star setup with that 9/10 rating vibe, it punches way above. I’d go back in a heartbeat – the views alone make you feel like you’ve got the city at your feet, and that free parking? Game-changer for anyone road-tripping through Victoria. Trust me, it’s the kind of place that turns a trip into something memorable, without the usual CBD hassles.

Superb – Kristen from Australia – 12 May 2025 (9/10)
EVERYTHING 🙂 My first time staying in Melbourne CBD and the location is great. It was as the pictures and description showed. But the view,, was just AMAZING 🙂 We had an easterly facing appartment and the sun rise was fantastic. Will definitely recommend.
Thanks to Jake and the team 🙂
