The street itself is pretty quiet, especially in the evenings – no blaring horns like you’d get closer to St Kilda Road – but watch out for parking if you’re driving; it’s permit-only in spots, so I ended up circling for a bit before snagging a space around the corner. Oh, and the air had that fresh, eucalyptus-tinged scent from the nearby parks – Albert Park’s just a stone’s throw, perfect for a morning jog if you’re into that.

Stepping inside the apartment – unit 13, up on the second floor – it felt spacious and homey right away, like it was designed for actual living rather than just crashing. All in all, if you’re after that authentic Melbourne experience without the tourist trap feel, this spot in Windsor is a gem – especially for couples or solo travelers who want to blend in. It’s smack in the middle of cool cafes, vintage shops on Greville Street (just a quick walk), and easy access to the beach at St Kilda if you fancy a dip in summer. I stayed during the quieter shoulder season in autumn, and it was blissfully uncrowded, but I’d imagine it books up fast during events like the Grand Prix at Albert Park. Honestly, with its 4-star comfort and that perfect 10 vibe from real guests (including me now), it’s the kind of place that makes you rethink hotels altogether – why not live like a local instead? Just pack light; the stairs might be a workout with heavy bags.
