Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to this place on Wellington Street in Clifton Hill – you know, that leafy inner-north suburb of Melbourne where the old Victorian houses mix with trendy renos, and you’re just a stone’s throw from the buzz of Brunswick Street. Honestly, after dodging the eternal parking wars in Fitzroy, spotting the dedicated spot right out front felt like winning the lottery. The house itself? It’s this boutique-style 3-bedroom family home that’s been done up all stylish and modern, but not in that over-the-top way – more like someone’s cool aunt turned her pad into a welcoming spot for visitors. I arrived mid-afternoon during a drizzly spring day (Melbourne weather, am I right?), and the check-in was a breeze with a key lockbox – no fussing around with front desks or awkward small talk. Stepping inside, there’s this immediate cozy vibe: polished wooden floors that creak just a bit underfoot, a living room with plush sofas that beg you to sink in after a day out, and a kitchen stocked with decent appliances – think a proper coffee machine that actually makes a half-decent flat white, which saved me from trekking to the cafes on Queens Parade every morning.
What really sets this spot apart, though – and I mean this as someone who’s bounced around Melbourne’s suburbs a fair bit – is how it nails that family-friendly balance without feeling like a sterile hotel room. The three bedrooms are spacious enough for a group or a small clan, with one master that’s got this en-suite bathroom featuring those rainfall showers that make you linger a tad too long. There’s even a little backyard patio where you can sip your morning brew while listening to the distant hum of trams rattling down High Street – it’s quiet here most nights, though fair warning, if you’re a light sleeper, the occasional weekend reveller stumbling back from Smith Street in Collingwood might filter through (nothing earplugs can’t fix). We cooked up a storm one evening using fresh produce from the nearby Farmers’ Market at the Collingwood Children’s Farm – yeah, that’s just a quick walk along the Merri Creek trail, which is gorgeous for a family stroll, especially in autumn when the leaves turn. It’s not flawless; the Wi-Fi can be spotty if everyone’s streaming at once, and it’s more “charming home” than luxury resort, but at a 4-star rating of 8.1, it’s solid value for what you get, especially with that parking perk in a city where spots vanish faster than avo on toast.
Look, if you’re planning a Melbourne trip with the fam and want a base that’s got personality – not some cookie-cutter chain in the CBD – this is it. It’s close enough to hop on the 86 tram for a 15-minute ride into the city center, or you could just wander to local gems like the Abbotsford Convent for a lazy afternoon. Well, sort of lazy; there’s always something happening around here, from street art tours to hidden bars. I left feeling like I’d actually lived a slice of Melbourne life, you know? If that’s your vibe, book it – just maybe avoid peak summer when the neighborhood gets extra lively.

The sound proof works well, given that it’s located at a very busy intersection, we couldn’t hear any noise.
Looks like it has been renovated recently, the toilets and bathroom are pretty modern, the cutlery and utensils are very nice.Samantha from Australia (10/10)
Great little house, easy to find and not far from the city. The code to get into the house was very user friendly, much better than needing keys. The instructions in the handbook were very easy to follow and user friendly.
