Stepping inside, the place just hits you with this flood of natural light – huge windows everywhere, and everything’s so crisp and modern, like someone actually thought about how people live, not just sleep.

What really sold me, though, was the balcony – it’s not some tiny afterthought; it’s spacious enough for a couple of chairs and a little table, perfect for sipping your morning flat white while watching the world go by. I spent a good chunk of time out there, honestly, overlooking the treetops toward Merri Creek (which is just a short walk away if you fancy a jog or a picnic – locals love that trail for its hidden spots along the water). The apartment itself feels fresh, with that new-build smell still lingering a bit – smooth wooden floors underfoot, a kitchen that’s kitted out with decent appliances (though, well, it could use a few more pots if you’re planning to cook up a storm). The bedroom’s comfy, queen bed with those hotel-quality linens that don’t wrinkle, and the bathroom’s got a rain shower that actually has good pressure, not the dribble you sometimes get in older Melbourne pads. It’s rated 9.5 for a reason, you know? Sort of ideal for a solo traveler or a couple – I was there in spring, when the Edinburgh Gardens nearby are blooming and the cafes on Queens Parade are buzzing, but it’s quiet enough at night that you sleep like a baby. Oh, and if you’re into the arty scene, it’s a quick tram ride to Brunswick Street for vintage shops and street art – beats staying in the touristy southside, in my opinion.

All in all, if you’re heading to Melbourne and want something that feels like a real home base without the fuss of a big hotel chain, this spot’s a gem. It’s got that 4-star polish but with personal touches – like the welcome pack with local coffee pods – that make you feel settled right away. Sure, the road can get a tad noisy during rush hour if you’re sensitive to that (earplugs helped me), but honestly, the convenience of being so close to the action – think 10 minutes to the city center by tram, or a stroll to hidden gems like the Clifton Hill breweries – outweighs it. I’d book it again in a heartbeat, especially off-season when rates dip and the northside’s vibe is even more chill.

    The location was very good for us being a short walk to our relatives and being a 1 minute walk to the tram stop taking us into Melbourne. The Piedemonte supermarket is not too far away along with restaurants and take aways. The Merri Creek was also a short walk, a lovely place to walk especially up to Ceres which has a lovely cafe. The back roads ere nice to walk around.
    The apartment was comfortable, and the building lovely and clean with a nice aspect at the back. There was parking if we needed it. if there were any queries, the accommodation agency were very quick to respond and very helpful.

    What could be improved: There was some noise at night time from the road outside. This tended to quieten during the night.
