Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon the Bright City Views Melbourne Central Penthouse on Collins during a quick trip to Melbourne last spring, and honestly, it was one of those spots that just clicks when you’re craving that urban buzz without feeling totally overwhelmed. I mean, it’s tucked right on Little Collins Street – you know, that charming stretch between Elizabeth and Queen Streets where the laneways spill out with hidden cafes and those old-school arcades. I remember hopping off the tram at Collins and Bourke, dodging the afternoon crowd of office workers grabbing flat whites, and there it was: unit 1101 at 325 Little Collins. Check-in was a breeze, actually – no fuss with a front desk like in bigger hotels; it was all keyless entry via an app, which felt modern but, well, a tad impersonal if you’re not tech-savvy. Stepping inside, though, the place hit me with this flood of natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and that penthouse view? Overlooking the rooftops toward the Yarra River and Federation Square – stunning, especially at dusk when the city lights start twinkling like they’ve got something to prove.
What really sold me was how it balanced that high-end feel with practical touches that make you forget you’re in a bustling CBD. The space is massive for a penthouse suite – think open-plan living with a full kitchen (stocked with basics, which saved me from overpriced room service), plush king beds that actually sink in just right after a day of wandering, and a balcony where I sipped my morning coffee listening to the distant ding of trams on Collins Street. It’s rated a solid 8 out of 10, and I’d say that’s fair; the decor’s modern-minimalist with those sleek marble counters and soft, textured throws on the couches – nothing flashy, but it smells clean, like fresh linen and a hint of eucalyptus from the bath products. Nearby, you’re steps from Hardware Lane for those lively Italian spots (try the pasta at Il Solito Posto if you’re peckish), or a short stroll to the Queen Victoria Market for fresh produce on weekends. Parking’s a nightmare in this area, though – I ended up using the Wilson lot on Flinders Lane, which isn’t cheap, and yeah, there’s some street noise filtering up at night, especially during peak hours when the bars empty out. But come quieter seasons like winter, it’s almost serene, with fewer tourists clogging the sidewalks.
All in all, if you’re the type who wants to dive headfirst into Melbourne’s vibe – catching a show at the Regent Theatre or just people-watching from your perch – this place is a gem. It’s not perfect; the Wi-Fi dipped a bit during my stay, and it’s more self-catered than pampered (no daily housekeeping unless you request it), but for a 4-star penthouse smack in the heart of it all, it delivers that authentic city escape. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially for the views that make you feel like you’ve got Melbourne at your feet – just pack earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, you know?

My bestie and I had our girls weekend in Melbourne and this was the perfect launching point. With its own parking, it was perfect for me to get to and I felt my car was secure. The views along Collins are lovely and the floor to ceiling windows and little balcony give great access to those views.
Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean, comfortable and nicely put together. The wine was a lovely touch too.Samantha from Australia (9/10)

We flew from interstate for our first visit to Melbourne. Location and price were brilliant. You are only a quick walk or tram ride from all the major city attractions. The apartment was neat and tidy and had all that you needed to be self sufficient. The beds were comfortable and showering facilities were great. Views were amazing. If you want to emerge yourself in the heart of Melbourne this is the place to stay.
