I remember pulling up to the Complete Host Convesso Apartments in Docklands one drizzly Melbourne afternoon – you know, that part of town where the skyline feels all futuristic with those glassy high-rises hugging the waterfront. It’s right off Harbour Esplanade, super easy to spot if you’re coming from the city via the free tram loop, which honestly saved me a ton on Ubers during my stay. The check-in was a breeze; no stuffy lobby drama – just a friendly staffer who handed over the keys with a quick chat about the best local spots for brekkie. I mean, it’s not some grand hotel entrance, but that’s kind of the charm – it feels more like settling into a mate’s spare flat than a sterile chain. My apartment was on the higher floors, with these massive windows overlooking the harbor; on clear days, you’d catch the sunlight bouncing off the water, and at night, the city lights twinkling like they do in those postcard shots of Melbourne. Oh, and parking? There’s secure underground spots, but book ahead if you’re driving – Docklands can be a nightmare during peak hours with all the construction still going on around the area.
What really won me over, though, was how lived-in and practical everything felt – these aren’t just rooms; they’re proper apartments with full kitchens (stocked with basics like a decent coffee plunger, thank goodness), laundry in-unit, and balconies big enough for a lazy morning read. I whipped up a quick pasta one evening using stuff from the nearby Woolies on Collins Street extension – it’s only a 10-minute stroll, or hop on the tram if you’re lugging bags. The place is spotless, with that fresh linen smell you appreciate after a day wandering, but fair warning, it can get a bit echoey in the hallways during busy seasons like summer when families flock in for the nearby Marvel Stadium events. I stayed during footy season, and yeah, there was some distant crowd noise on game nights, but nothing earplugs couldn’t handle – sort of adds to the vibe if you’re into that energetic Melbourne buzz. The gym and pool downstairs are solid too; nothing flashy, but the pool’s heated, which is a godsend in winter when the wind whips off the bay. And let’s be real, being in Docklands means you’re steps from cool eateries like those Italian joints along the promenade – I grabbed wood-fired pizza at Cargo one night and watched the ferries glide by. It’s quieter than the CBD chaos, especially mid-week, but still connected; you’re maybe 15 minutes from Flinders Street Station if you time the trams right.
Honestly, if you’re planning a trip to Melbourne and want something that feels authentic without breaking the bank – it’s a 4-star spot with a solid 9 rating for a reason – this is it. Families or couples on longer stays would love the space (I was there solo and still felt spoiled), and it’s perfect for blending city exploration with some downtime by the water. Sure, Docklands isn’t as “happening” as South Yarra or Fitzroy – well, not yet anyway, with all the development – but that’s what makes it a hidden gem. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in spring when the cherry blossoms pop up nearby and the whole area just hums with that laid-back Aussie energy.
Apartments in Melbourne suit remote workers with cowork lofts, balcony herb gardens, and fast trams to coworking hubs.

What Our Guests Say
Great spot perfect for Footy game day at Marvel.Trams and shopping easy access Location excellent
Clean tidy and modern
What could be improved: Access key to gym and pool had to be done via reception every time you wanted to use. Some parts of day reception closed for whole hour.
Fantastic, exceptional. We will be back. The apartment was clean on arrival. The view was sensational. The location couldn’t have been any better. Everything, except for one thing, was exceptional.
What could be improved: The Concierge didn’t have a key for access to the pool when we wanted to go for a swim. The Concierge advised us that there was only 2 sets of keys for the pool and they were already being used. An apartment building of that size with only 2 sets of keys for the pool seems a bit strange to me.
