Easy Living One Bedder Gem Overview
You know, when I first pulled up to the Easy Living One Bedder Gem on Burwood Road in Hawthorn – that’s the 3122 postcode, right in Melbourne’s inner east – I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s tucked into this bustling stretch where the traffic hums along pretty steadily, especially during morning rush hour when everyone’s heading towards the city or out to the suburbs. But honestly, stepping inside felt like finding a little oasis; the lobby (well, more like a cozy check-in nook) has this welcoming vibe with fresh pot plants and a faint scent of eucalyptus from some diffuser they must use. I mean, it’s not a massive hotel – think more apartment-style living, which suits the name perfectly – and my one-bedroom spot was spotless, with a kitchenette that actually had decent cookware, not those flimsy sets you sometimes get. Parking was a bit of a juggle; there’s limited spots out back, so if you’re driving, aim to arrive off-peak or snag street parking on nearby Power Street, which is usually quieter.
What really made it special for me was how it nailed that “easy living” thing without trying too hard. The bed was plush – like, sink-in-and-not-want-to-leave plush – and the balcony overlooked a leafy patch of garden that muffled the road noise surprisingly well (though, fair warning, if you’re a light sleeper, the trams rattling down Burwood might wake you early on weekdays). I loved wandering out to Glenferrie Road, just a five-minute stroll away, for coffee at one of those hole-in-the-wall spots locals swear by – try Axil if you’re into specialty brews; it’s got that Melbourne coffee culture down pat. And being in Hawthorn means you’re close to the Yarra River trails for a jog or bike ride, especially nice in spring when the paths are blooming with jacarandas. Check-in was a breeze; the host handed over keys with tips on the best Thai takeaway around the corner on Auburn Road – I ordered from there one night and it was legit, spicy enough to clear your sinuses. Oh, and the Wi-Fi? Super reliable, which mattered since I was working remotely a bit. It’s not perfect – the bathroom’s on the compact side, and during peak tourist season in summer, the area gets busier with uni students from Swinburne nearby – but those small quirks just made it feel authentic, you know?
All in all, if you’re after a 4-star stay that feels more like crashing at a friend’s well-kept pad than a sterile hotel, this place is a gem. I’d recommend it for couples or solo travelers who want that homey Melbourne suburb feel without being right in the CBD chaos – it’s about a 20-minute tram ride to the city center, super convenient for exploring places like the Botanic Gardens or Federation Square. My rating? Easily a 9; it left me relaxed and ready to book again next time I’m in town.
Melbourne’s experiences offer urban adventures with skyline views, perfect for families wanting to discover daily life in this culturally diverse Australian metropolis known for its parks and gardens.

Reviews of Easy Living One Bedder Gem
満足です – Saito from Japan – 9 June 2025 (10/10)
The location was excellent. It wasn't far from either the train station or the tram stop. Getting into central Melbourne was very easy and didn’t take much time. There were plenty of supermarkets and restaurants around the nearby station, so shopping was no problem. The surrounding area felt very safe.
What could be improved: 特にないAn ideal location in Hawthorn close to public transport and shops – Toni from Australia – 10 December 2024 (8/10)
Super convenient with all the amenity you need, and a great view into the apartment gardens. After staying at other accommodation before this which hurt my back – the mattress in the bed was an absolute godsend. The owner was incredibly organised and helpful in all the prepared instructions.
