Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon the Exclusive Stays – Prima Penthouse kind of by accident last time I was in Melbourne – I was there for a quick work trip but decided to splurge on something with a view, and boy, did it deliver. Tucked away on Queens Bridge Street in Southbank, it’s right on the edge of the Yarra River, so you’re basically steps from that bustling promenade where locals grab coffee from those little vans in the morning. I mean, arriving around dusk, I parked in their secure underground spot (which, honestly, is a godsend because street parking in Southbank during peak hours is a nightmare – think trams clanging by and tourists everywhere). Check-in was super straightforward, all self-service with a code they email you, no fussing with a front desk, which was perfect after a long flight. Stepping into the penthouse – well, it’s not your average hotel room; it’s this massive, open-plan space with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the city skyline like a postcard. I remember flopping onto the plush king bed (those Egyptian cotton sheets felt like butter, seriously) and just listening to the faint hum of the river traffic below – not too noisy, but enough to remind you you’re in the heart of it all.
What really sets this place apart, though, is how it feels like a home away from home, especially if you’re staying more than a night or two. The kitchen’s fully kitted out – we’re talking a proper oven, dishwasher, even a Nespresso machine that had me brewing flat whites like a pro every morning (and the smell of fresh coffee mixing with that crisp Melbourne air wafting in from the balcony? Heaven). I spent one evening out there on the private terrace, watching the lights flicker on at Crown Casino across the way – it’s just a five-minute stroll over the bridge if you fancy a flutter or some dinner at Nobu. Oh, and for foodies, you’re smack in the middle of Southbank’s vibe; I wandered down to the Arts Centre for a show and grabbed dumplings at this hole-in-the-wall spot on Sturt Street afterward – authentic as it gets, without the CBD crowds. That said, it’s a 4-star spot, so don’t expect round-the-clock concierge; I had to sort my own laundry (there’s a washer-dryer in the unit, thankfully), and the Wi-Fi dipped a bit during evenings when everyone’s streaming – minor gripe, but worth noting if you’re working remotely. Still, the place is spotless, with those little touches like fresh towels and a welcome pack of local snacks that make you feel looked after.
All in all, if you’re heading to Melbourne – say, during spring when the jacarandas are blooming and the city’s not sweltering yet – I’d say book this penthouse without hesitation. It’s got that rare combo of luxury and practicality, perfect for couples or small families who want space to spread out (we fit four comfortably, with the sofa bed pulling its weight). Honestly, waking up to that panoramic view of the Eureka Tower and the river mist sort of resets your soul, you know? Sure, it’s not the cheapest option around, but compared to those sterile high-rises in Docklands, this feels genuine, like you’re actually living the Melbourne life for a bit. Just pack earplugs if you’re a light sleeper – the occasional tram bell can sneak in early mornings – but otherwise, it’s a winner. I’ve already recommended it to mates planning their next trip down under.

Great location with amazing view – Sharma from Australia – 13 January 2025 (7/10)
Location and close vicinity to city
Disappointing – Alvin from Australia – 21 April 2024 (4/10)
Nice view, very high ceiling, reasonably spacious and that's all
What could be improved: cheap furniture installed for the sake of providing guests with minimal comfortability, so expect a very empty apartment. Linens, bedding, pillows, towels, toiletries were cheap, non-luxurious and unsophisticated, yet asking for 2k bond. Terrible reception due to the height. The host appeared to be busy dealing with other properties, and neglected and missed our check-in request made that early morning.
