You know, I stumbled upon the Glamorous 2 Bedder Southbank Home – that's its full name, with that quirky #MSQ42 tag, like it's some secret code for insiders – during a quick getaway to Melbourne last spring, and honestly, it turned out to be one of those spots that just clicks.
You know, I stumbled upon the Glamorous 2 Bedder Southbank Home – that’s its full name, with that quirky #MSQ42 tag, like it’s some secret code for insiders – during a quick getaway to Melbourne last spring, and honestly, it turned out to be one of those spots that just clicks. Tucked away on 18 Hoff Boulevard in Southbank, right by the Yarra River, it’s the kind of place where you pull up after dodging the trams on Clarendon Street and think, “Okay, this is way better than I expected.” The building itself has that sleek, modern apartment vibe – think glass balconies and polished concrete lobbies – but without feeling too sterile, you know? I mean, stepping inside our unit, the first thing that hit me was the smell of fresh eucalyptus from some diffuser they had going, mixed with that faint city buzz filtering in from outside. It’s a two-bedroom setup, glamorous as advertised, with these plush king beds that swallow you up after a day wandering around, and a kitchen that’s actually stocked well enough to whip up a proper brekkie – none of that sad single-burner nonsense. Oh, and the free parking? A godsend in Southbank, where spots are like gold during peak times; we snagged one in the secure underground lot without any drama, which saved us from circling blocks near the Crown Casino like lost tourists.
What really makes this place special, though, is how it nails that home-away-from-home feel while being smack in the middle of Melbourne’s action – well, sort of on the edge, but in the best way. From the balcony, you’ve got these killer views over the river towards the CBD skyline, especially at dusk when the lights start twinkling and you can hear the distant hum of ferries chugging along. We were there in October, just before the spring racing carnival ramps up, so it was lively but not overwhelmingly noisy; I imagine during events like the Australian Open, though, you might catch some crowd spillover from nearby venues – a minor heads-up if you’re a light sleeper. The check-in was a breeze, all contactless with a code they text you, which was perfect after our delayed flight from Sydney. Inside, it’s got all these thoughtful touches: super-soft towels that feel like they’ve been through a high-end spa, a Nespresso machine with pods already there (because who wants to hunt for coffee at 7 a.m.?), and even a washer-dryer combo that came in handy after we got caught in one of those sudden Melbourne downpours. It’s not perfect – the Wi-Fi dipped a couple times during peak evening hours, probably from all the apartments sharing the network – but at a 9.7 rating, it’s clear most folks overlook that for the overall polish.
Look, if you’re heading to Melbourne for a weekend of exploring – maybe hitting up the NGV or grabbing dumplings in Chinatown, just a short walk across the bridge – this spot’s a smart pick. It’s got that four-star luxury without the stuffy hotel chain vibe, and for couples or small families, the two bedrooms give you space to spread out. We left feeling like we’d found a little secret in Southbank, and yeah, I’d book it again in a heartbeat, especially with that free parking making city parking woes a non-issue. Just time it right, avoid the mega-events if you want quiet, and you’ll be golden.
Melbourne’s apartments welcome families with spacious lounges, playground courtyards, and quick rides to beachside St Kilda.

What Our Guests Say
Had a really enjoyable and comfortable stay. The only problem was the unit was so comfortable and nice I preferred to st Fantastic views, free parking, great features of the unit, fully equipped, Woolworths downstairs, close to CBD without CBD hassles.
What could be improved: Needed more than one set of keys with 3 adults staying.
