Glenroy Home near airport, city&shop Overview
I remember pulling up to Glenroy Home on Glenroy Road late one evening after a red-eye flight into Tullamarine – you know, that airport that’s always buzzing no matter the hour. It’s tucked away in this quiet suburban pocket of Melbourne’s north, like a hidden gem amid all those low-slung houses and eucalyptus trees lining the streets. Honestly, I was wiped out, but the check-in was a breeze; the staff – a friendly bunch with that classic Aussie laid-back vibe – had my key ready in minutes, no fuss about parking either, since there’s plenty of spots right out front (though watch out for the occasional delivery truck squeezing by in the mornings). The place feels more like a cozy serviced apartment than a stuffy hotel, which was perfect for me after dealing with the airport chaos. Oh, and if you’re coming from the city, it’s just a quick hop on the 901 bus from Broadmeadows Station – saves you the Uber surge prices during peak hours.
What really won me over was how it balances that homey feel with some thoughtful touches – the rooms are spacious, with these big windows letting in heaps of natural light (and yeah, a bit of that fresh, crisp Melbourne air that smells faintly of rain even in summer). I stayed in one of the suites, and it had a full kitchenette – we’re talking a proper stove and fridge, not those mini ones that barely hold a beer. Made it easy to whip up brekkie from the Coles supermarket just down the road on Pascoe Vale, you know? The beds are comfy, firm but not too much, and the bathroom’s got that rain shower head that actually works without sputtering – though, fair warning, the hot water can take a sec to kick in if you’re an early riser. It’s not flashy, but it’s clean and practical; I appreciated the free Wi-Fi that didn’t drop out once, even when I was streaming footy highlights. Noise-wise, it’s pretty peaceful here – well, aside from the distant hum of planes taking off, but that’s sort of charming if you’re an aviation nut like me. And if you wander out, there’s this great little cafe on Wheatsheaf Road called something like “Brew Haven” – their flat whites are spot-on, especially on those foggy mornings when the area’s all misty and the magpies are chattering away.
Look, if you’re flying in or out of Melbourne and don’t want to schlep all the way to the CBD (which can be a nightmare during rush hour on the Tullamarine Freeway), this spot’s a smart pick. It’s got that 4-star polish without the pretension, and at an 8 rating, it’s earned it through reliability more than wow factor. I mean, it’s not perfect – the decor’s a tad dated in spots, like those carpet patterns that scream ’90s – but for families or solo travelers needing a base near the airport, shops, and easy city access (hello, 20-minute drive to the heart of town on a good day), it just works. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in winter when Melbourne’s chill sets in and you want somewhere warm to hole up.
Places near me in Melbourne offer convenient access to major landmarks, where visitors can easily reach Queen Victoria Market, Eureka Skydeck, and world-famous shopping districts in the vibrant Chapel Street area.

The location of the property was good. Easy to find food and everything around. The house was clean and smells nice. As a local I felt like I was staying in one of my relatives house which makes our stay more relax and enjoyable. The price was also super affordable. I will definitely be back when I visit Melbourne again.
