First Impressions
Walking into Lumina Stays – Aspire feels like stepping into one of those sleek Melbourne apartments you see in design magazines — but actually livable. The lobby has this understated modern vibe that doesn’t try too hard, which honestly sets the tone for the whole experience. You’re right on King Street, and I mean right in the thick of things, so there’s this immediate energy that tells you you’ve landed somewhere special in Melbourne’s CBD.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about the location — it’s not just central, it’s smart central. You’re a two-minute walk from Southern Cross Station, which sounds boring until you realize that means the airport shuttle drops you practically at the door. Flinders Street is right there too, so you can hop on any tram line without thinking twice. What I really love is how couples seem to get it — they’ve rated the location 9.5, and honestly, I can see why. You can stroll to the Crown complex for dinner, catch a show at one of the Southbank theaters, or just wander through the laneways discovering street art and coffee spots that locals actually frequent.
The Room Experience
The rooms at this four-star property strike that perfect balance between apartment-style living and hotel service. You get a proper kitchenette — not one of those sad mini-fridges with a kettle, but actual counter space and appliances you’d use. The beds are seriously comfortable, and the windows are large enough that you feel connected to the city buzz below without being overwhelmed by it. What surprised me was the attention to lighting; there are enough different sources that you can actually create the mood you want, whether you’re working on your laptop or winding down after exploring the city.
Neighborhood Insights
Being on King Street means you’re in this interesting pocket where business Melbourne meets creative Melbourne. During the day, you’ll see suited office workers grabbing coffee alongside artists heading to studios in the converted warehouses nearby. The Queen Victoria Market is an easy walk when you want to play tourist, but you’re also close enough to places like Hardware Lane and Degraves Street to eat where Melburnians actually eat. I mean, you could spend your entire stay just exploring the coffee culture within a six-block radius — and that’s not even getting into the bar scene that comes alive after dark.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.2 rating makes sense when you experience how everything just works smoothly here. The staff seem to understand that travelers want independence with backup support — they’re helpful without being hovering, knowledgeable about the neighborhood without being pushy about recommendations. You get the space and amenities to live like a local, but with the security and service of a well-run hotel. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having your own little Melbourne base where you can grab groceries, cook breakfast, then step out into one of the world’s most livable cities whenever the mood strikes.

What Our Guests Say
Stunning property with everything you need. Comfy bed and amazing views! Extremely clean and tidy.
I loved the views, cleanliness, location and the layout
Great location. Nice to have the pool. The condo itself could use a few more items for cooking such as a salad bowl, salt, pepper. Instruction on how to use the washer and dryer. Faces clothes would be use.
Nice to have the balcony but it could use patio furniture rather than dragging chairs out.
Location was great. Right in the city and close to everything. For a rented flat, it was as clean as expected. Price was fair.
Pool was amazing. Useful to have the washing machine/dryer. Good location. Sweet view.
Location was beautiful, apartment was great. Rooms are very soundproof. Pool, spa, sauna, gym was awesome.
The location is close to all public transport and we had a lovely view across the park. Also close to the Coles on Spencer street.

Very short walk to free tram stop - number 35. Also very close to Queen Vic Markets and Marvel Stadium.
Short walk to other parts of Melbourne CBD, but lots of mainly Asian eateries close by.
Room has opening windows as well as air con.
If too early for check-in, the reservation team hq is just a few away and can store luggage.
