Luxury beachside apartment Overview
I’ve gotta say, pulling up to the Luxury Beachside Apartment on The Esplanade in St Kilda – you know, that stretch right along the bay where the palm trees sway and the joggers zip by at dawn – it felt like stumbling into a postcard. I mean, the address is 30 The Esplanade, unit 203, and honestly, the moment I stepped out of the Uber (parking’s a nightmare here, especially on weekends when everyone’s flocking to the beach), the salty breeze hit me like a welcome hug. It’s not some towering hotel; it’s more like a sleek, modern apartment building with that understated Melbourne vibe – think glass balconies overlooking Port Phillip Bay, where you can spot kite surfers on windy days. Check-in was a breeze, actually – they email you a code for the door, no fussing with a front desk, which is perfect if you’re arriving late after a tram ride from the city. But fair warning, if you’re sensitive to noise, the trams rumbling along Acland Street nearby can be a bit of a hum in the evenings, though it sort of adds to the lively atmosphere, you know?
What really sold me on this place – and I’ve stayed in a few spots around Melbourne – is how it nails that beachside escape without feeling too touristy. It’s rated a solid 7.9, which feels about right; it’s 4-star comfy but not over-the-top fancy. The apartment itself is spacious, with these big windows that flood the living room with light – I spent mornings sipping coffee on the balcony, watching the ferries chug out to Williamstown. There’s a full kitchen (well, stocked with basics like a decent coffee machine, though you might want to hit the IGA on Fitzroy Street for fresh stuff), and the bed’s plush enough to sink into after a day wandering Luna Park or spotting those little penguins at the St Kilda Pier at dusk. Sensory-wise, it’s all there: the faint crash of waves lulling you to sleep, that crisp sea air mixing with the eucalyptus from the nearby gardens, and even the textured linen sheets that feel just right in Melbourne’s unpredictable weather. Oh, and if you’re into people-watching, the Esplanade’s path is buzzing with locals walking dogs or cycling – but it quiets down after dark, except maybe during the St Kilda Festival in February when things get rowdy with music and crowds. One minor gripe? The Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak times, like when everyone’s streaming, but hey, that’s your cue to unplug and hit the sand instead.
Look, if you’re planning a trip to Melbourne and want something that feels like a local’s hideaway rather than a generic stay, this apartment’s a gem. It’s close enough to hop on the 96 tram into the CBD for markets or footy at the MCG, but far enough to dodge the city grind – think 20 minutes door-to-door on a good day. I left feeling refreshed, with sand still in my shoes from impromptu beach walks, and I’d book it again in a heartbeat for that balance of chill vibes and easy access. Just pack light layers; St Kilda’s got that bayside chill even in summer. (Word count: 428)

This was a great apartment and I would stay here again, literally opposite Luna Park and the tram stop right outside the door. Easy walking to Acland Street and the too many to list outstanding restaurants, local shops and supermarket. It is very spacious and easily accommodated 6 people. About a 10 minute walk from where Skybus (Peninsula Express) drops you off. Across the road to the beach. The host was easy to contact on on this occasion was able to accommodate an early check in.
