Luxury Melbourne CBD Apt in Iconic QT Building Overview

I remember pulling up to the Luxury Melbourne CBD Apt in the Iconic QT Building on Russell Street – you know, that grand old spot right in the heart of the city, just a stone’s throw from Bourke Street Mall. It’s one of those places that hits you with that classic Melbourne mix of history and hype as soon as you step inside; the building’s got this Art Deco flair from the 1930s, all polished marble floors and quirky design touches that make you feel like you’ve wandered into a film set. Honestly, checking in was a breeze – no long queues or stuffy front desk drama, just a quick chat with the staff who handed over the keys and pointed me toward the elevators. I mean, if you’re driving in, parking’s a bit of a juggle in the CBD (expect to hunt for a spot on nearby Lonsdale or shell out for the underground lots), but once you’re settled, it’s gold. The location’s perfect for dipping into the laneways – think Hardware Lane for a quick flat white or dumplings, or hopping on a tram down Collins Street to Federation Square. And let’s be real, Melbourne’s weather can be fickle, but being smack in the middle means you’re never far from shelter when those infamous four-seasons-in-a-day hit.

What really sold me on this place was the apartment itself – it’s not your standard hotel room; it’s more like a sleek, self-contained pad with a full kitchen (stocked with decent basics, though I grabbed fresh produce from Queen Vic Market, just a 10-minute walk away). The views from the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline were killer, especially at dusk when the lights start twinkling and you can hear the faint hum of trams below. The bedding’s plush, like sinking into a cloud after a day pounding the pavements, and there’s this subtle eucalyptus scent in the air from their bath products – reminds you you’re in Australia, you know? I stayed during spring, when the city’s buzzing but not overwhelmingly packed like summer festival season, and the noise levels were manageable – a bit of street chatter filters up, sure, but nothing that kept me awake (earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, though). Well, one minor gripe: the Wi-Fi can lag a tad during peak hours, but for streaming or work calls, it held up fine. Oh, and the rooftop bar in the QT – not technically part of the apt, but you get access – is a hidden gem for sunset cocktails; I ended up chatting with locals there, picking up tips on lesser-known spots like the rooftop cinema at Curtin House nearby.

All in all, if you’re after a 4-star stay that feels authentically Melbourne without the tourist trap vibes, this apt’s a winner with its 9.2 rating earned fair and square. It’s ideal for couples or small groups who want space to spread out, maybe cook a brekkie with market finds, and dive into the CBD’s energy. Sure, it’s not the cheapest option – rates spike in peak times like the Grand Prix season – but the convenience of being walking distance to everything from the State Library to hidden bars in Degraves Street makes it worth it. I’d go back in a heartbeat; it’s that kind of place that lingers, you know?

Best attractions in Melbourne range from the iconic Royal Botanic Gardens to the trendy Federation Square and elegant venues overlooking the scenic Yarra River and bustling Central Business District.

  • Chrissy from Australia (9/10)

It was very clean and modern

  • Christopher from Australia (10/10)

The photos do not do this apartment justice, it is so luxurious and spacious. The bath tub is amazing, with views and convenience. Perfect location. Only recommendation would be to have more towels. Bed was comfy and the choice of 4 pillows was great. The access to the rooftop bar on the next level up was also great.

  • Katherine from Australia (7/10)

The location is great in terms of accessibility to the city and attractions- however it also means it is in the middle of the action with accompanying city noise. The apartment itself is beautiful and a great space.
