Albert Park Lake is right there for morning walks, and the tram connections into the city center work like clockwork. What I really appreciate is the parking situation — having private parking at the hotel means you’re not circling blocks looking for a spot, which anyone who’s driven in Melbourne will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from Mercure — clean lines, comfortable bed, and everything actually works. The air conditioning responds when you adjust it (you know how some hotels have those fake thermostats?), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t drop out every five minutes. The bathroom’s well-designed too, with decent water pressure and enough space to spread out your toiletries without everything falling into the sink.
