Hotel Description

I remember pulling up to Queensview168 Apartments on Pascoe Vale Road – you know, that busy stretch in Moonee Ponds where the traffic hums along but doesn’t totally overwhelm you, especially if you’re coming from the Tullamarine side. It’s one of those spots that’s easy to spot from the road, with its sleek modern facade that sort of blends into the suburban vibe without trying too hard. I mean, Melbourne’s northwest suburbs aren’t exactly the flashy CBD, but Moonee Ponds has this understated charm – think tree-lined streets and that old-school Italian bakery on Puckle Street just a short walk away. Anyway, check-in was a breeze; the staff were friendly Aussies who handed over the keys with a quick chat about the best local coffee spots (pro tip: hit up the one in Queens Park for a flat white that actually tastes like it’s from Melbourne, not some chain). My apartment – well, it was more like a proper home away from home, with a full kitchen that smelled faintly of fresh linens when I walked in, and big windows overlooking the rooftops toward the city skyline. Honestly, at dusk, the view from the balcony had this golden glow that made me forget I was only 10km from the heart of town.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how it nailed the practical stuff for travelers like me who aren’t into stuffy hotels. The apartments are spacious – I had a one-bedroom setup with a comfy queen bed that didn’t creak like some budget spots do, and the bathroom had those rain showerheads that make you linger a bit longer in the morning. Parking? There’s secure underground spots, which is a godsend because street parking on Pascoe Vale can get dicey during race days at Moonee Valley Racecourse – yeah, that’s just down the road, and if you’re here in spring, the crowds add a fun buzz, but it means planning your drives. Noise-wise, it’s mostly quiet at night, though you might hear the occasional tram rattling by on Mount Alexander Road nearby; nothing earplugs can’t fix, and actually, it added to that authentic Melbourne suburb feel. I cooked up a storm in the kitchen one evening – grabbed some fresh produce from the Moonee Ponds market on a Saturday – and the appliances were top-notch, no finicky stoves or anything. Oh, and the Wi-Fi was solid, which mattered when I was streaming footy games (go Demons!). It’s not perfect – the pool area could use a few more loungers during peak summer weekends when families flock in – but for a 4-star rating of 8.8, it punches above its weight, especially if you’re road-tripping or need space for a longer stay.

Look, if you’re eyeing Melbourne without wanting the chaos of the city center, Queensview168 is a smart pick. It’s got that balance of convenience – hop on the 59 tram and you’re in the CBD in under 30 minutes – and local flavor that makes you feel like you’re actually living here, not just visiting. I left thinking it’d be ideal for couples or small families who want to explore spots like the zoo or Flemington without breaking the bank. Sure, it’s not the ritziest, but in a city like this, that’s kind of the appeal – real, relaxed, and ready for whatever adventure you’ve got planned.

Reviews

  • Superb – Sarah from Australia – 14 July 2025 (9/10)

Very comfortable apartment with everything you could possibly need when not at home. Everything you need with the kitchen, full laundry, 2 bedrooms!! A grocery store a few doors down

What could be improved: Not much could have been better really!

  • Superb – Shanna from Australia – 12 July 2025 (9/10)

Easy communication with the management. They were helpful and informative throughout. The apartment was comfortable and well maintained, great location for getting into the city. Nice walk to the park and some nice cafes.

What could be improved: The call2access door lock was a bit unpredictable. We were finding it difficult to get in sometimes despite following the instructions. There was another family staying in the apartment having the same problem.

  • Very good – Lloyd from Australia – 22 June 2025 (8/10)

    Plenty of space
    And nice views

What could be improved: Entrance to building was quite messy/unclean

  • This apartment suited our needs perfectly. Staff were very accommodating and it was great value for money. Highly recomm – Joanne from Australia – 14 June 2025 (9/10)

Everything! The complex of apartments were clean with great security. Our apartment was spacious, clean with a huge balcony. 2 bathrooms were great and there was a fully equipped kitchen. It was in a great location with a small supermarket and eateries just across the road.

What could be improved: The only thing we would suggest is the apartment needs some window coverings in the lounge as it was wet and cold in Melbourne and hard to keep the apartment warm (without leaving the heater on during the day)

  • Stunning Views – Ivana from Australia – 30 May 2025 (10/10)

Very comfortable with a stunning view. Easy check-in. Will definitely book again in the future.

  • Overall comfortable and enjoyable and would be happy to stay there again provided the street door entry is assured – John from United Kingdom – 22 May 2025 (8/10)

Location was perfect, property was finished to a high specification, spacious and provided a very comfortable stay.

What could be improved: Street door entry system caused a few issues. On arrival early morning we couldn’t get in. That was upsetting after a long haul flight.
Patio windows would benefit from a sun blind

  • Cosy stay near Melbourne CBD – Chin from Malaysia – 3 May 2025 (8/10)

    Cooking utensils provided

What could be improved: Hefty cleaning fees

  • Great place to stay – Dianne from Australia – 28 April 2025 (9/10)

Great place to stay , tram stop right outside the door and close to cafes

  • Very good – Michelle from Australia – 19 April 2025 (8/10)

We loved the location, (Moonee Pond tram stop), super comfy beds, great service by owners and huge balcony with city views.

  • well – Xi from China – 9 April 2025 (10/10)

    well
