Walking into the lobby, it had this welcoming vibe, not sterile at all; there was a faint whiff of fresh eucalyptus from some diffuser thing they had going, and the staff were chatty locals who actually knew their stuff – one guy even tipped me off about a great kebab joint on Mickleham Road if I didn’t feel like room service.

What really sets this place apart, though, is how it feels like a proper apartment stay rather than just a pit stop. My room was spacious, with a little kitchenette that came in handy for brewing my own coffee – none of that weak hotel drip, you know? All in all, if you’re flying in or out of Melbourne and want somewhere that feels like a home base without the hassle, Quest is a smart pick – especially in the busy summer months when the airport hotels fill up fast. It’s not perfect; the decor’s a bit modern-minimalist, which might feel bland if you’re after character, and the on-site laundry could use more machines during peak times. But for the price and that 4.5-star comfort, I’d book it again in a heartbeat. Seriously, it turned what could’ve been a stressful overnight into something almost relaxing – and in Tullamarine, that’s saying something.
