Well, sort of – I did splurge at one of those trendy cafes on Commercial Road afterward. Noise-wise, it’s pretty peaceful at night, though you might hear the occasional laughter from the pubs if you’re a light sleeper; earplugs helped me out. And during the quieter winter months, it feels even more like a cozy hideaway, away from the summer tourist crowds swarming the Botanic Gardens nearby.
