First Impressions
Quest St Kilda Bayside sits right where you want to be in Melbourne — close enough to the action but far enough from the chaos. I’ll be honest, when I first pulled up to this four-star property on Eildon Road, it didn’t scream “look at me” from the outside, but that’s actually part of its charm. It’s one of those places that gets better the moment you step inside, and you realize the real magic is in the details and location.
The St Kilda Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally minutes from St Kilda Beach, and I mean the good part where locals actually hang out, not just the touristy strip. The trams run right nearby, so getting into the CBD is actually pretty painless (about 20 minutes), but honestly, you might find yourself wanting to stay in the neighborhood. There’s this great coffee culture here that you don’t get in the more central areas, and the Sunday markets at St Kilda Esplanade are worth planning your trip around.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was one of their studio apartments, and it struck that perfect balance between hotel comfort and having your own space. The kitchenette was actually functional — not just for show — which saved me a fortune on breakfast and late-night snacks. What really impressed me was the attention to practical details: proper blackout curtains (crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag), decent water pressure, and enough power outlets that I didn’t have to choose between charging my phone and using the coffee machine.
Dining and Amenities
While there isn’t a full-service restaurant on-site, that’s honestly not a problem in this neighborhood. You’re surrounded by some of Melbourne’s best casual dining — from proper fish and chips at the pier to those hidden laneway cafes that locals guard like secrets. The hotel does have a decent breakfast setup, and the staff actually knows the area well enough to point you toward places you wouldn’t find on your own. Parking is available, which in St Kilda is basically like finding gold, especially during festival season.
Why Guests Love It
You know what sets this place apart? It’s that sweet spot where couples can have a romantic bayside getaway without feeling like they’re stuck in a tourist bubble. The beach walks at sunset are genuinely spectacular, and there’s something about waking up this close to the water that just hits different. The staff seems to get that most guests are here for the St Kilda experience, not just a place to crash, so they’re genuinely helpful with local recommendations. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Melbourne — it’s just really, really good at being exactly what it is.

What Our Guests Say
Close to the transport links to the city and also next to the beach. Lovely area and bright and roomy apartment.
Great location, room contained everything we needed for a night in the city. Excellent off street parking
I like the fact that it has a balcony. It was quiet and in a very good location - close to the bay in St Kilda.
Location was ok.
Location, pool, comfortable bed, lovely staff
Great Location; quiet; comfortable large apartment; good kitchen and facilities; nice pool; friendly staff;
Great location and fully stocked kitchen, which allowed us to cook for our toddler!
Lovely room and excellent location
The location is great, just a short walk from all the St Kilda action but in a quiet, leafy street, the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed to be fully self contained. The balcony was a nice touch with fresh air and sunlight.
Great space for a family. Couches and beds were comfy and a great kitchen to use. Would definitely stay again. Woolworth and a great Irish pub just down the road and around d the corner. Beach and Luna Park and Maccas within walking distance.
