Sky High 2 Bedroom Apt Melbourne CBD Stay
I remember pulling up to the Sky High 2 Bedroom Apt on Queen Street – you know, that stretch right in the heart of Melbourne's CBD where the old legal buildings mix with those shiny new high-rises.
I remember pulling up to the Sky High 2 Bedroom Apt on Queen Street – you know, that stretch right in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD where the old legal buildings mix with those shiny new high-rises. It’s at number 370, smack between the buzz of the courts and the edge of Flagstaff Gardens, which is honestly a godsend if you need a quick escape from the city hustle. I arrived mid-afternoon during peak hour, and yeah, finding parking was a bit of a nightmare – street spots are scarce, and the nearest multi-level is over on Little Bourke, but once you’re in, it’s all uphill from there. Check-in was straightforward, no fuss; the host met me at the lobby with keys and a quick rundown – none of that overly scripted hotel spiel, just practical tips like how the tram stop on William Street is literally two minutes away for hopping over to the Queen Vic Market for fresh produce or coffee. The building itself has that modern apartment vibe, with elevators that whir quietly up to the higher floors – I was on the 15th, and stepping out, you get hit with this fresh, almost citrusy scent from whatever cleaner they use, which beats the stale air in some older spots around here.
What really sold me on this place was the apartment itself – it’s a proper two-bedroom setup, not some cramped shoebox pretending to be spacious. The living area opens up to floor-to-ceiling windows with views that stretch over the CBD skyline, all the way to the Yarra if you squint on a clear day. I mean, watching the sunset from up there, with the city lights flickering on like stars – it’s one of those Melbourne moments that make you forget the drizzle outside. The kitchen’s fully kitted out, with a decent oven and even a dishwasher, which came in handy after I grabbed some pasta ingredients from the Italian joints on Lygon Street (just a short tram ride away). Beds were comfy, queen-sized with those crisp white linens that feel cool against your skin after a long day wandering – though, fair warning, the street noise does creep in a bit during rush hour, especially if you’re a light sleeper; earplugs helped me out. There’s a small balcony too, perfect for morning coffee while listening to the distant tram bells and the occasional magpie call from the gardens below. And honestly, for a 4-star rating like its 8.8, it punches above its weight – no over-the-top luxuries, but things like fast Wi-Fi and a washer-dryer in-unit make it feel like a home base, especially if you’re traveling with family or mates and don’t want to blow the budget on eating out every night.
All in all, if you’re eyeing a stay in Melbourne’s CBD without getting lost in the tourist traps, this spot on Queen Street is a solid pick – well, sort of a hidden gem amid the chaos. It’s great for longer visits, say during the summer festival season when the city’s alive with events down at Fed Square (a 10-minute walk), or even in winter when you just want to hole up and watch the rain from those epic views. I’d go back in a heartbeat, minor parking gripes aside, because it captures that effortless Melbourne cool – practical, unpretentious, and right where the action is. Just pack light; those elevators can get busy around check-out time.
Hotels in Melbourne line Federation Square, riverside promenades, and tram-linked neighborhoods buzzing with live music.

Good place for a short break. Comfortable and spacious for 4 adults. Amazing view.
Location good if you like Asian food.
What could be improved: Cleanish - bit greasy and dusty in some spots.
Pillows very big and uncomfortable - needs to have other sizes available.
Amazing place to stay and enjoy everything Melbourne has to offer amazing location, incredible views, super clean
What could be improved: all was good
Very nice property. Great location. Friendly owners. Secure, clean, comfortable. Great shower in ensuite. Great communication with owner. Good location.
What could be improved: Shower off dining room, drain is blocked. Filled up when used, so we all used ensuite shower in the end. Couldn't use gym or pool being casual guests. Lock box location was tricky to find. Small sign. Maybe some maps of the city or things to do close by, coffee shops etc. Would be nice for people from outside of Melbourne. Wasn't comfortable with photo id requirement.
Amazing views of the city from the beautiful apartment Everything !
Beautiful & spacious apartment! We had an amazing stay. Thank you! Everything!
Proximity to Melbourne Central and the comfortability and cleanliness of the apartment.
What could be improved: Best if there are at least two fob keys & scissors in the kitchen :)
