So Unique! Collins Street Vibe 2B2B Overview
You know, when I first rolled up to So Unique! on Collins Street – right there at 464, smack in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD – I was already buzzing from the tram ride down from Flinders Street Station. It’s one of those spots where the city’s pulse hits you immediately: the clang of trams mixing with the chatter of office workers spilling out for lunch, and that faint salty whiff from the Yarra River just a block away. Honestly, checking in was a breeze – I got there around 8 PM after a delayed flight, and the front desk guy (shoutout to Mike, if he’s still there) didn’t bat an eye, just handed over the keycard with a quick rundown of the Wi-Fi password and where to grab a late-night coffee from the Degraves Street laneways nearby. The lobby’s got this modern, almost apartment-like feel – not too flashy, but with these quirky wall prints of old Melbourne trams that make you smile. I mean, it’s billed as a 4-star, and yeah, it lives up to that 8.8 rating without trying too hard.
What really sets this place apart, though – and I say this as someone who’s crashed in a few Melbourne spots over the years – is that “Collins Street Vibe” they promise in the name. It’s essentially a spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom setup, perfect if you’re traveling with mates or family and don’t want to feel crammed into a standard hotel room. My unit overlooked the street, so mornings started with sunlight streaming in and the aroma of fresh pastries from the bakery downstairs wafting up – seriously, skip the room service and just pop out to Block Arcade for a flat white. The kitchenette’s a lifesaver too; I whipped up a quick brekkie with groceries from Queen Victoria Market, which is an easy 10-minute walk up Elizabeth Street. Well, parking’s a bit of a hassle in this area – it’s all metered spots or pricey garages – so if you’re driving, plan ahead or just embrace the public transport like a local. Noise-wise, it’s lively during the day with all the foot traffic, but things quiet down after 10 PM, especially mid-week when the financial crowd clears out. Oh, and a small nitpick: the air con can be a tad noisy if you’re a light sleeper, but nothing a white noise app couldn’t fix. During peak season like summer or around the Australian Open, it books up fast, so snag it early if you’re aiming for that January vibe.
All in all, if you’re after a spot that feels authentically Melbourne – you know, blending that urban energy with enough comfort to unwind after exploring Federation Square or catching a show at the nearby theatres – this one’s a winner. It’s not the ritziest joint on the block, but for the price, especially in pricey old Melbourne, it delivers that home-away-from-home feel without skimping on the little luxuries. I’d go back in a heartbeat, maybe next time with the kids to hit up the aquarium down by the river.

High specification modern 2 bedroom apartment each with its own bathroom and a good little study area which was great for doing a bit of work. Relatively spacious for a high rise inner city apartment. Clean and tidy. Came here after staying in a big name corporate serviced apartment in Sydney and this was so much nicer and better value. Good location in CBD on Collins Street. Highly recommended.

Property is lovely and clean in a central location. We loved how easy it was to find, the hosts had great communication with us and were very helpful. I visit Melbourne annually and this was definitely one of the best apartments I have stayed in.
