St Kilda Style – Stunning 3 Bedroom House Overview
You know, I stumbled upon St Kilda Style – this stunning 3-bedroom house on Argyle Street – during a quick getaway to Melbourne last summer, and honestly, it felt like I’d hit the jackpot in a neighborhood that’s equal parts chaotic and charming. Pulling up to 126 Argyle Street, right in the heart of St Kilda (postcode 3182, if you’re mapping it), I was a bit skeptical at first – the street’s got that mix of old Victorian terraces and newer builds, and parking can be a nightmare if you’re not there early, especially on weekends when everyone’s flocking to the beach. But the check-in was a breeze; the owners left a key in a lockbox with clear instructions via email, no fussing around with reception desks or anything. Stepping inside, well, it’s one of those places that immediately smells like fresh linen and eucalyptus – you know, that clean, Aussie vibe – and the space just opens up. The living room’s got these high ceilings and polished floorboards that creak just a little underfoot, which I actually kind of loved; it added character without feeling rundown. And the kitchen? Fully stocked with decent appliances – I mean, nothing fancy like a restaurant-grade oven, but solid enough for whipping up brekkie with eggs from the nearby IGA on Acland Street.
What really sold me, though, was how it nailed that St Kilda essence without the usual downsides. It’s a proper house, not some cramped apartment, with three bedrooms that are surprisingly spacious – the master has this king bed that’s like sinking into a cloud after a day wandering Fitzroy Street’s bars and cafes (pro tip: hit up the Espy for live music, it’s just a 10-minute stroll away). We were there in peak season, December, when the area’s buzzing with tourists heading to Luna Park or spotting penguins at the pier at dusk – that salty sea air drifts in through the windows, mixing with the distant hum of trams on Carlisle Street. Noise-wise, it’s not dead quiet; you might hear the occasional reveler late at night, but the double-glazed windows keep it manageable, and honestly, that’s part of St Kilda’s charm – it’s lively, not sterile. The decor’s got this modern beachy style with pops of color, like turquoise cushions and abstract art that nods to the local graffiti scene, and there’s a small backyard patio where we sipped coffees in the morning sun. Oh, and practical stuff: Wi-Fi’s speedy, laundry facilities are a lifesaver for longer stays, and it’s pet-friendly if you’re traveling with a furry mate – though we didn’t, I appreciated the thought.
All in all, with its 4-star setup and that impressive 9.4 rating (which tracks, based on my stay), this place is perfect if you’re after a home base that’s steps from the action but feels like your own little retreat. Sure, the bathroom could use a bit more storage – I ended up stashing toiletries on the windowsill – but that’s a minor gripe in an otherwise spot-on spot. If you’re visiting Melbourne and want to immerse in St Kilda’s vibe without the hotel sterility, book this one; you’ll wake up to birds chirping and the faint crash of waves, ready to explore. Trust me, it’s the kind of stay that makes you linger a day longer.

When I first stepped inside, I was impressed by how roomy and open the house felt. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The layout was practical, with separate areas for dining, lounging, and sleeping, making it perfect for groups or families – especially whilst travelling with a new born. The host even provided a travel cot which was fab.
The house was in a good location and only a short walk from the main high-street in St Kilda. It was further from the beach than we originally thought but it was a pleasant walk. The house was also very close to shops and supermarkets.
Loved that we had access to a BBQ, just shame there wasn't an outdoor dinning table. Would have liked to have spent our evenings outside.
The beds were comfortable. The house was clean and well-maintained overall, with all the essential amenities in working order – also great that there was a washing machine.
Fantastic communication from the hosts right through from booking to checking out – thank you for letting us stay in your home!Ahmad from Malaysia (9/10)
The hosts were fantastic. They stayed in constant communication with us even before our arrival, providing all the necessary information about accessing the house and the available facilities. Whenever we needed assistance, they responded promptly.
The amenities in the house, such as the washing machine and kitchenware, made our stay comfortable and feel just like home.
The location is excellent, with tram stations just a 5-10 minute walk away.Stephen from Australia (10/10)

We enjoyed the space and layout of the home. The home was well stocked with the essentials the only thing that would of made it perfect was the provision of coffee pods. The off street parking was invaluable. Close to St Kilda and chapel street.
The hosts was very hospitable and were quick to respond to any issues.Gary from Australia (10/10)
Spotlessly clean, tastefully arranged and thoughtfully equipped.
