Hotel Description
You know, when I first pulled up to 500 Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s CBD, I was honestly a bit skeptical – it’s right in the thick of things, with trams clanging by every few minutes and that constant hum of city life spilling over from Queen Victoria Market just a block away. But stepping into Unit 6002 on the 60th floor (yeah, it’s that high up), everything changed. The place is more like a sleek apartment than your standard hotel room – think modern kitchenette with a proper oven and dishwasher, not just some mini-fridge tucked in a corner. I mean, I whipped up a quick brekkie using fresh produce I’d grabbed from the market that morning, and it felt like home, sort of. The views? Oh man, they’re insane – floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the skyline, with the Yarra River twinkling in the distance and even a peek at the Eureka Tower if you angle just right. At sunset, it’s pure magic, all those golden hues bouncing off the buildings, though I will say, if you’re a light sleeper, the faint traffic buzz from below might keep you up – nothing earplugs can’t fix, but fair warning.
What really sold me, though, was how practical it all is for actually getting around Melbourne. Parking’s included, which is a godsend in the CBD where spots are like gold dust – I drove in from the airport via the Tullamarine Freeway and slotted right into the secure garage without any drama. Check-in was a breeze too; it’s self-service with a code, so no waiting around in a lobby if you arrive late after hitting up Lygon Street for some pasta (pro tip: go to Brunetti’s for the cannoli – it’s walking distance). The apartment’s got that fresh, airy vibe with plush bedding that smells faintly of lavender from whatever detergent they use, and the bathroom’s got a rain shower that beats out most hotels I’ve stayed in. Honestly, it’s rated 9.5 for a reason – four stars, but it punches above with little touches like high-speed Wi-Fi that didn’t drop once during my Zoom calls, and a balcony where I sipped coffee watching the morning fog lift over the city. Well, okay, the balcony can get windy in winter (Melbourne weather, am I right?), but in summer, it’s perfect for that evening glass of local pinot.
All in all, if you’re heading to Melbourne for a mix of work and play – maybe catching a show at the State Theatre or wandering Bourke Street Mall – this spot’s a winner. It’s not the cheapest, but for the views, the space, and that rare parking perk, it’s worth every cent. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially during the quieter shoulder seasons like early autumn when the crowds thin out and you can really soak it in without the peak-season rush. Trust me, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve got a secret slice of the city all to yourself.

Beautiful, centrally located apartment with a car space and a magnificent view. – Teresa from Australia – 31 March 2025 (10/10)
We had a wonderful say! The location was excellent, and the apartment offered a stunning panoramic view. It was beautifully clean and well-maintained, making our stay even more enjoyable. The cafe across the road had a good selection of breakfast options and served delicious coffee. Overall, it is a fantastic place to stay.
What could be improved: As I mentioned, the apartment was nice and clean, but some old food was left in the kitchen cupboard after previous gusts.Superb – Selina from Australia – 28 May 2025 (9/10)
