Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to 20 Burnley Street in Richmond – you know, that buzzy inner suburb of Melbourne where the Yarra River bends just right and everything feels a tad more laid-back than the CBD hustle. It’s on the edge of things, honestly, with the East Richmond train station only a five-minute stroll away, which made hopping into the city center a breeze on those packed trams along Bridge Road. I arrived in the late afternoon during spring – peak cherry blossom time, actually – and the check-in was this seamless self-service deal with a code sent via email. No fuss, no front desk drama, though I did fumble with the lock for a sec because, well, jet lag. But once inside this 4-star apartment (rated a solid 9.6, and I get why), the first thing that hit me was the balcony – oh man, those sweeping city views stretching out toward the skyline, with the faint hum of traffic below mixing with birdsong from the nearby parks. It’s not some sterile high-rise; it’s got that lived-in charm, like you’re borrowing a mate’s pad for the weekend.
What really sold me on the Stunning City Views Apt was how it nailed the practical stuff for someone like me who mixes work with wandering. There’s this dedicated study desk tucked into a corner – proper ergonomic chair and all, with natural light pouring in from floor-to-ceiling windows that make Zoom calls feel less like a chore. The place is spotless, mind you, with a compact kitchenette that had everything for whipping up a quick brekkie (fresh bread from the bakery on Swan Street, just around the corner – locals swear by their sourdough). I mean, it’s not huge, sort of cozy in that apartment way where you have to Tetris your luggage, but the textures – soft linen sheets, smooth timber floors underfoot – made it feel premium without trying too hard. Evenings on the balcony were magic; you’d catch the sunset painting the city gold, a cool breeze carrying hints of eucalyptus from the Botanic Gardens a short drive away. Noise-wise, it’s surprisingly quiet after dark, though mornings can get a bit lively with joggers along the river trail – nothing earplugs couldn’t handle, and hey, it motivated me to join them once or twice.
If you’re eyeing a Melbourne trip, this spot in Richmond is a gem for anyone wanting more than just a bed – it’s that sweet spot between urban energy and chill vibes. Parking’s street-side and can be tricky during footy season at the MCG (which is walkable, by the way, if you’re into AFL madness), but Ubers are cheap and plentiful. I left thinking, you know what, it’s perfect for remote workers or couples dodging the tourist traps – affordable luxury with those views that’ll make your Instagram pop, and easy access to gems like the Abbotsford Convent for a lazy Sunday arvo. Minor gripe? The Wi-Fi dipped once during a storm, but it bounced back quick. Overall, I’d book it again in a heartbeat – it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve unlocked a local secret. (Word count: 428)

What could be improved: NilComfortable convenient classy with views. – Victoria from Australia – 8 October 2024 (10/10)
The property was set up nicely to be welcoming & homely. It was so clean & basic amenities were provided. The view was absolutely stunning. There was an ensuite & main bathroom as well as 2 bedrooms for our family. Was great to have a balcony with outdoor seating as this added to the ambience.Victoria Gardens shopping centre was across the road & there were supermarkets only a couple if minutes walk. The property also had secure underground parking.
What could be improved: The only negative is that there was no subsidised parking for a second vehicle. This would have been appreciated even off site elsewhere.Good value and exactly what we wanted- close to our specialist for a SA family – Leanne from Australia – 20 September 2024 (8/10)
The view as advertised was stunning. It was close to our daughter’s specialist- very convenient!
What could be improved: Just need a little update and a good dusting throughout unit.Exceptional – Nu from Vietnam – 1 July 2025 (10/10)
