Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to this place on Stanlake Street in Footscray – you know, that gritty-but-cool suburb just west of Melbourne’s CBD – and thinking, wow, this isn’t your typical cookie-cutter hotel. It’s actually a stunning modern two-story townhouse, all detached and sleek, like something out of a design mag but plopped right in the middle of a neighborhood that’s buzzing with real life. I mean, Footscray’s got that multicultural edge – Vietnamese pho joints on every corner, the Footscray Market just a short walk away where you can snag fresh mangoes or those addictive banh mi sandwiches – and this spot fits right in without trying too hard. We arrived around dusk after dodging the peak-hour traffic on Ballarat Road, and honestly, finding street parking wasn’t a nightmare like it can be closer to the city; there’s usually a spot nearby, though I’d recommend arriving before 6 PM if you’re driving, especially on market days when things get lively.
Stepping inside, it felt more like borrowing a friend’s stylish pad than checking into a hotel – you know what I mean? The check-in was super straightforward; the host left a key in a lockbox, no fuss, and we were in within minutes. Upstairs, the bedrooms are airy with those plush king beds that actually let you sleep through the night, even if there’s a faint hum from the occasional tram rattling down Gordon Street a block over (it’s not disruptive, but earplugs if you’re a light sleeper). Downstairs, the open-plan living area screams modern comfort – think polished concrete floors that stay cool underfoot in Melbourne’s humid summers, a kitchen stocked with decent appliances (we whipped up brekkie using herbs from the little backyard herb garden – such a nice touch), and big windows letting in that golden afternoon light. Well, it’s not perfect; the Wi-Fi can lag a bit during evenings when everyone’s streaming, and if you’re here in winter, pack layers because the heating takes a minute to warm the whole place. But sensory-wise, it’s got that fresh, clean vibe – no musty hotel smells, just the faint scent of eucalyptus from the nearby park along the Maribyrnong River, which is perfect for a morning jog or bike ride if you’re into that.
Look, if you’re the type who wants to skip the tourist traps and dive into Melbourne’s authentic side, this townhouse is a gem – rated a solid 8.8 for good reason, and I’d give it four stars myself for the value. It’s about a 15-minute tram ride to the city center, so you’re close enough without the chaos, and spots like the Sun Theatre in Yarraville (just a quick drive) make for easy evenings out. We stayed during the quieter shoulder season in spring, and it was blissfully peaceful, but summers might bring more neighborhood barbecues – which, honestly, added to the charm. If you’re traveling with a small group or family, this setup beats cramped hotel rooms hands down; there’s space to spread out, cook your own meals, and feel like a local. Just don’t expect round-the-clock concierge – it’s more self-reliant, which suited us fine. All in all, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your trip, lingering over coffee on the balcony while watching Footscray wake up.

Was a great new home on a very quiet street. Easy to get to and had a private park included. Having a key code made it easily accessible.

“We were very satisfied with the amenities and service. The house is small and cozy. The check-in time was a bit late and it’s a little far from the city center, but we were very pleased with our stay there. If we have another opportunity, we will choose you again.”

Perfect house to stay. Never regret at all. The location is great . House is very clean & everything is well- equipped. Washing machine is perfect with laundry detergent provided. Parking is great. Heaters are working well. Plus coffee machine bar is provided with coffee beans too. But sadly, i do not have time to grind it 😁😁😁. Recommended to all. The best accomodation with perfect price. Value for money.
