Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to this place on a drizzly Melbourne afternoon – you know, the kind where the trams are clanging down Collins Street and everyone’s dodging puddles on the footpaths. The Stylish 3-bed Unit is tucked right in the heart of the CBD, basically a stone’s throw from Flinders Street Station (latitude -37.8171831, longitude 144.9645822, if you’re mapping it out). I mean, forget about wasting time on public transport; we walked everywhere – grabbed flat whites at that little laneway cafe on Degraves Street, wandered over to Federation Square for some people-watching, and even popped into the Queen Victoria Market for fresh produce on a Saturday morning. Parking’s a bit of a nightmare here, honestly – it’s all metered spots or pricey garages nearby – so if you’re driving, plan ahead or just embrace the trams. Check-in was smooth, though; the host met us at the door with keys and a quick rundown, no fuss like at those big chain hotels. It felt more like crashing at a mate’s fancy apartment than a sterile hotel room, which was a nice change.
Stepping inside, it’s got this sleek, modern vibe – think polished concrete floors that are cool underfoot (perfect for kicking off your shoes after a day exploring), big windows letting in that moody Melbourne light, and a kitchen that’s actually stocked well enough to whip up a proper brekkie. With three bedrooms, it’s spacious for a group – we had four of us, and no one felt cramped, though the third room’s a tad smaller, like a cozy nook rather than a full suite. The beds are comfy, queen-sized with those crisp white linens that smell faintly of eucalyptus (or maybe that’s just the nearby parks rubbing off). There’s a balcony overlooking the bustle below – you can hear the distant hum of the city at night, which I found sort of soothing, but light sleepers might want earplugs during peak hours, especially with the bars on Little Bourke Street kicking off around 8 PM. Amenities are solid for a 4-star spot (rating around 8, I’d say it earns it); fast Wi-Fi, a washer-dryer that saved us on laundry day, and even a Nespresso machine – though the pods ran out quick, so stock up. It’s not flawless – the bathroom’s a bit tight for multiple people getting ready at once, and during summer, the AC struggles a little if you’re blasting it all day – but overall, it feels lived-in and authentic, not some cookie-cutter setup.
Look, if you’re heading to Melbourne and want to dive right into the CBD energy without the hassle of outer suburbs, this unit’s a gem. It’s ideal for families or mates traveling together, especially in the shoulder seasons like spring when the jacarandas are blooming and the crowds aren’t insane. We saved a ton cooking our own meals instead of eating out every night, and being so central meant spontaneous adventures – like catching a gig at the Forum Theatre just a short stroll away. Sure, it’s not the Ritz with round-the-clock service, but that’s the charm; it lets you feel like a local for a bit. I’d go back in a heartbeat, rain or shine – just remember to book early for those AFL finals weekends when the city’s buzzing.

Very good – Greg from Australia – 18 October 2024 (8/10)
The location was great. The apartment was lovely. The kitchen and lounge was a good space.
What could be improved: A couple of the beds were a little uncomfortable. On both Friday and Saturday night, noise from down stairs bars could be heard in the downstairs bedrooms.Gorgeous and clean property. Great location. – Anonymous from Australia – 9 June 2025 (8/10)
Gorgeous and clean property. Great location.
What could be improved: SO cold and no extra blankets.
