Stylish Comfort on the Park
I remember pulling up to Stylish Comfort on the Park after a quick tram ride from Flinders Street Station – you know, the number 75 that rattles along Collins Street and drops you right near East Melbourne.
I remember pulling up to Stylish Comfort on the Park after a quick tram ride from Flinders Street Station – you know, the number 75 that rattles along Collins Street and drops you right near East Melbourne. It’s tucked away on Albert Street, just a stone’s throw from Fitzroy Gardens, which honestly feels like a little oasis in the middle of the city buzz. I mean, Melbourne can get pretty hectic, especially during footy season when the MCG is packed, but this spot? It’s got that perfect balance – close enough to wander over to the stadium for a game (it’s like a 10-minute stroll), but far enough that you don’t hear the crowds unless you’re really listening. Check-in was a breeze; the staff were these friendly locals who chatted about the best coffee spots on nearby Brunswick Street – try the almond flat white at Proud Mary, it’s a game-changer. The lobby has this sleek, modern vibe with plush armchairs and a faint scent of eucalyptus from the diffusers, which sort of nods to the Aussie bush without trying too hard.
Stepping into my room, well, it was one of those places where you immediately think, “Okay, I could actually live here.” The decor’s stylish but not over-the-top – think clean lines, soft gray linens that feel like wrapping yourself in a cloud, and big windows overlooking the park (request a garden-view room if you can; the ones facing the street pick up a bit of tram noise in the mornings, though it’s nothing earplugs can’t fix). I appreciated the little touches, like the stocked minibar with local beers from Mountain Goat Brewery – honestly, cracking one open on the balcony after a day exploring felt just right. The bathroom’s a highlight too, with those rain showers that make you linger a bit longer, and the Wi-Fi’s solid, which mattered for me since I was catching up on work emails. Oh, and parking – if you’re driving in from the airport, they’ve got secure spots underground, but book ahead because East Melbourne gets tight during events like the Australian Open. It’s not flawless; the gym’s on the smaller side, more for a quick cardio session than a full workout, but hey, with the gardens right there, who needs it? Jogging paths are endless, and in spring, the air smells like blooming jacarandas – pure magic.
All in all, if you’re after a 4-star stay that feels authentically Melbourne without the tourist trap vibes, this is it. I’ve stayed in fancier spots in the CBD, but Stylish Comfort nails that comfy, lived-in elegance – rating’s a solid 9.2 for a reason, you know? It’s great for couples or solo travelers who want to dip into the city’s energy (the tram to Lygon Street for Italian eats is super handy) but retreat to somewhere quiet by evening. Just watch out for peak times like summer festivals; rooms book up fast, and prices spike a tad. I’d go back in a heartbeat – actually, I already have plans to.
Hotels in Melbourne line Federation Square, riverside promenades, and tram-linked neighborhoods buzzing with live music.

What Our Guests Say
Location was great.
Very spacious and had everything you could need and very comfortable.
Host was very responsive and helpful with any queries.
The location is perfect for Rod Laver and the MCG only a 23min walk away. Close enough to walk to the CBD too. IGA around the corner and Maccas and pizza hut too. Bryan was extremely easy to deal with. We highly recommend this place.
The lock box was a bit stiff which made it difficult to open the box. We did contact the property owner who was very helpful which made it much easier.
Great location! Close to IGA grocery store! Onsite parking was a bonus! Very comfortable for 2 couples attending a function! Lovely decor!
Great location and very comfortable. Perfect for a group stay in Melbourne
Beautiful place, great location and clean.
Location, comfort, facilities..had everything you need.
Location perfect and included parking
It was a very comfortable apartment.
Everything you could think of was there. Perhaps a box of tissue but that was nothing really. Even a pair of scissors. Nice linen and very comfy beds in both rooms. Heaps of room in the bedrooms.
