I remember stepping out of the Uber on that bustling corner near Collins Street – you know, right in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, postcode 3000, where the trams clang by every few minutes and the Yarra River’s just a short stroll away. Honestly, finding the entrance to this place, the Stylish Studio on the 28th Floor with Panoramic Views, was a bit of a hunt at first – it’s tucked into one of those sleek high-rises that blend right into the skyline, not far from Federation Square. I mean, if you’re coming from the airport via the Tullamarine Freeway, it’s about a 30-minute drive, but traffic can turn that into an hour during peak times, like weekday evenings when everyone’s heading home. Check-in was straightforward, though – no fancy lobby, just a secure key code system that felt more like arriving at a friend’s apartment than a hotel. Well, it’s rated a solid 7.5 out of 10, and as a four-star spot, it delivers on that promise without overhyping itself. I appreciated the no-fuss vibe; you buzz yourself up, and suddenly you’re zooming to the 28th floor in an elevator that, fair warning, can get crowded around breakfast hours when other residents are rushing out.
What really hooked me was the studio itself – oh man, those views. You open the door, and bam, floor-to-ceiling windows framing the entire city sprawl, from the twinkling lights of Southbank across the river to the distant silhouette of the Docklands ferris wheel on a clear night. It’s the kind of panoramic setup that makes you forget you’re in a compact space; the room’s stylish in that modern, minimalist way, with a comfy queen bed that doesn’t feel crammed, a little kitchenette stocked with basics like a Nespresso machine (pods included, which saved me a morning coffee run), and a bathroom that’s spotless but, I have to say, a tad on the snug side if you’re traveling with more than one bag. Sensory-wise, it’s quiet up there despite the height – you get that faint hum of the city below, like distant traffic and the occasional seagull cry from the bay, but nothing disruptive. I spent evenings just lounging on the balcony with a glass of local Yarra Valley wine, watching the sunset paint the skyline orange. Parking’s offunctionally is a hassle in the CBD – expect to pay a premium for nearby spots like the Wilson lots on Flinders Lane, or better yet, use the tram system; it’s super efficient here. One minor gripe: the Wi-Fi was reliable but slowed a bit during evenings, probably from all the streaming in the building.
All in all, if you’re after a base that’s equal parts stylish and practical for exploring Melbourne – think wandering to Queen Victoria Market for fresh produce on weekends or catching a show at the nearby Arts Centre – this studio’s a winner. It’s not flawless; the air con can be a little noisy if you crank it, and there’s no on-site gym, so you’ll have to hit the paths along the Yarra for a jog. But for solo travelers or couples wanting that high-up escape with killer views, it’s worth it. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in spring when the jacarandas are blooming and the city’s alive – just book ahead, as spots like this fill up fast during events like the Australian Open. What Our Guests Say
Good sized snug apartment for 2 people. Great location to cbd, trains, free tram zone, and Queen Vic Markets. Heaps of eateries near by. Quiet building with modern amenities and gym access. All the basics for cooking.
Had oil on the kitchen bench and a dirty sink on arrival.
However, the rest of the place looked decent.
Dryer didn’t work so travelled home with wet clothes unfortunately and taken a while to receive my pre-authorisation. The location was great though for what my partner and I was after. Close enough to the Yarra river but not over populated like the main areas of the CBD
