It’s not huge, mind you – the living area is cozy, sort of compact for a group, but for solo travelers or couples, it’s spot on. And the noise? Surprisingly minimal; Blackwood’s off the beaten path, so no blaring horns from Flinders Street, just the occasional tram rumble in the distance and birds chirping at dawn. I’ve stayed in flashier spots downtown, but this one left me refreshed, with easy access to the university precinct or even a quick Uber to the Royal Melbourne Hospital if that’s your thing. Sure, it’s not right in the heart of the action, so if you’re all about non-stop nightlife, maybe look elsewhere – but for a balanced trip, blending city buzz with quiet evenings (think winding down with a book after a day at the markets), you’d be hard-pressed to find better. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in spring when the jacarandas bloom along the streets.

  The location was excellent. The tram stops right out of the front. 7 Eleven, Dominos and GyG near by for easy access food. The facilities (room, gym, pool) were great.
